API errors and next steps
Read the HTTP status and error message together; keep the request ID when contacting support.
401 · Authentication
Check the API key and Authorization: Bearer header. Do not publish the key when asking for help.
403 · Model access
Verify the model ID using GET /v1/models and check whether your key can use it.
400 · Request body
Validate JSON syntax, field names, and value types.
404 · Endpoint or capability
Check the endpoint and whether the selected model supports that operation.
429 and 5xx · Retry carefully
Use a bounded retry with backoff. A rate limit or temporary server error can have several causes; do not assume a fixed quota.
Request ID
Include X-Oneapi-Request-Id, time, and a redacted error message in your support request.
